Three Foundational Financial Planning Tools for Sandbox Clients
Financial planning provides the roadmap for building a strong financial foundation. See our Financial Planning Principals (click here). Although financial planning is unique to each, and the complexities of planning will vary, it is foundationally important to have an understanding of your cash flow ("income statement") and net worth ("balance sheet"). Once you have the financial foundation, you need tools to stay accountable, organized and track the progress of your plan.
1.Technology
Sandbox clients have access to our comprehensive financial planning portal, allowing you to efficiently track your finances and stay on plan. Other features include secure file sharing, storage of important documents (ie. tax returns, estate documents, brokerage statements), task management as well as daily updates on net worth balances. Getting organized is vitally important for a successful plan, and our website portal and app provide you the advanced technology tools for financial success (view video below).
2. Blueprint
Visually view your Net Worth (balance sheet), that includes a review of your assets and liabilities (debt, loans) that belong to each plan member individually (separate property) and which are owned jointly (marital property). Example below (click on image to enlarge).
3. Cash Flow Maps
Visually view your cash flow (income statement) in two diagram types: "Waterfall", a horizontal Sankey chart where cash inflows and outflows progress from left to right, and "Breakdown," a vertical flow chart where each item can be clicked down for more details. Example below (click on image to enlarge).
